We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Night at the Chuckwagon

We just finished reading the book Little Britches over the Christmas break, so in honor of the book we are having a cowboy meal. Beans, biscuits and gravy with homemade applesauce for dessert. It turns out that I ended up renting the book instead of borrowing the book from the library but it was worth every penny of the five dollars I spent. So many good life lessons and such a cool story of a strong family and love and hard work. Definitely a must read for every family.

Mmmm, bisquits and "saw" (short for sausage) gravy. That was a staple in Grandpa Meredith's family when he was growing up. It stuck to your ribs to get you through a long day of working on the farm. Cowboy up!
