We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Neighborhood High School Marching Band & Neighborhood Play

We hear the metronome over the loudspeaker every afternoon for a few months during football/marching season. So we walk down the street at night occasionally to watch them do the end-of-the-night run throughs. Unknowingly, we stopped by on band's trick or treat night. (oh, joy.) And Lukas' primary friend, Kara, was there. Her mom and I thought this would be a great picture to post if they should ever get married someday. Haha. They're so cute.

Here they are a couple days later at the play "Peter Pan" that we visited. Lukas wanted to invite Kara. I love the way he shared his raisins with her. Such cutey kiddos.

Halloween 2014

We tell em for months not to take candy from strangers, and then we send them do an entire neighborhood full of strangers to ask politely from every stranger living there for...candy.
And once the realization hits, that this actually works....that strangers will give candy just for asking, the motivation just rises with that grin as they go to one.house.after.another. Til they just can't walk anymore, or until the bucket is too full. Between the church's trunk-or-treat, and Halloween the night after, the kid was in candy nirvana. And he gets it now. Not a baby anymore, no sir. He walks right up to those doors with a strong TRUNK-OR-TREAT (still confused by the magic words from the church carnival where we march from trunk to decorated trunk).

I took a picture of the gym, because I was there two nights in a row til all hours of the night helping create a dropped ceiling and making sure carnival games were set up. Too much work, but it looked cool, went well, and is over.

Day at Legoland Brick-or-Treat

Free legos, snacks, fun rides, and crazy shows. All inclusive with his Legoland pass that he bought from his own money collecting bottles. At Halloween the place goes all out with giveaways. Lukas got his first Legos & is hooked! Totally loves putting em together, and it's fun to watch he & Jared tackle a project. Tonight 's the ward party, but we needed some down time before the big event. I've been at the church building 12 hours over the last 3 days decorating for the ward Halloween party. And on Tuesday night I was there 5 hours for night of excellence. Aye carumba. Time to rest!
