We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Hike to the Dormant Volcano

We started out at the park and took a back trail to climb a hill to see out over the city. Once we were higher we set out towards the volcano to check it out. We've just read a book about a boy overcoming his fears of water on a volcanic island, so Lukas was a bit nervous about heading towards it. But fears of volcanoes were dissipated when we came across a real live huge beehive!!! It was awesome! Like in the cartoons! haha.  We ran past it on the narrow trail with no incident, then walked around for a long ol time looking for a way to get to the top of the volcano. Realizing though that we were already 2 hours out and needed to still be able to walk back to the car, we had to call it. Lukas was super proud of himself that he'd hiked that far. Poor kid was pooped.  So proud of my little buddy!!!
