We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

All the talk these days: Popular things of our day

In no particular order:
-those stick people on the backs of cars that represent each family member and even pets.
-skinny jeans
-fluorescent colored exercise clothes
-the highest education for 3 yr olds possible
-texting instead of talking
-snapchat, twitter, texts, facebook and other social media as means of communicating
-Arguments between Congress and President Obama in Government shut down to save the country money
-People tired of a corrupt government
-Miley Cyrus dancing gets more news than the horrific things going on in Syria
-Eating organic foods... or eating healthier... or eating at least something green now and then
-iphones, android phones (what I have) and notebooks, ipads, and people even use them at church now instead of book printed scriptures, manuals, and songbooks! Very convenient at Stake Conference for sure!
-Vitamin drinks
-Club sports teams for kids (here in So Cal-- we are training the next Olympic Athletes you know!, and no, I don't know! haha!)
-Marathon Running, Half Marathon running, RAGNAR, Mud Runs, Color Runs, Cross-fit, 5ks, you name it. I click 'like' when a friend posts pictures from one. That's where I'm at. I'm thinking the Couch to 5k program looks promising, and doable. I feel like exercise has become an obsession in our country. Just sayin. Better than a twinkie couch potato country though, I suppose.
-SUV's to drive
-silver cars. Not too stand-out-ish.
-Reality TV shows. For just about everything
-Mod style, chevron patterns, DIY furniture, shabby chic,
-non-matching clothes/patterns. Is it just me?
-Long dangling chunky necklaces
-Pinterest, and its effect on weddings, birthday parties, youth activities, handouts, ideas, the world, etc.
-Family magazines have shifted to normalize and include more and more than ever the working mom, the single mom, and even the homes with two moms. Definitely times a' changing.
-In the church, an uprising from feminist women.
-Common Core Curriculum in schools across the Nation.

What did I miss?
