We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Beach with Mama

Our Destress Place. Cares of the week washed away with the waves. We found huge sea kelp pieces. Huge bulbs and sea cucumbers. Climbing on sandstone, and seeing things from new heights. The last picture is from some shells and feathers Lukas found on the beach. With them he made a little memorial for our friend Becca's baby, who had no heartbeat at her prenatal appointment. She was 5 months along and completely devastated. And she was the Primary President. Lukas is a sweet kid and was thinking about it, and wanted to make something to remember the baby. (He has a candle in Struppi's fishbowl to memorialize his first pet, and I'm thinking the idea spawned from this.) It's important to remember and deal with hard things, and to talk about them, and I'm so glad he is getting lots of chances to learn about grief and seeing different ways to deal with it.
