We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Last Child in the Woods

Back in the end of May we took a trip to San Diego to go interview at some jobs. On the way we stayed with some pretty nice friends, who took us on a little adventure nearby one evening.  The thing I love about these pictures is the fact that my 3 yr old tank of curiosity had NO qualms about picking up all KINDS of things out of the water, and that he had some golden 'boy bonding' time with dad, Aaron, Ammon and Troy. I did go in, but mostly took pictures, and wasn't really excited to pick up the crawdad, but I sure oohed and ahhhed and inspected it enough to include myself, and hide any suspected reservations that were certainly present about that googly eyed little creature!

The trip ended with a night at Pat & Oscars (the restaurant chain we dined in with Lukas' birthmom while visiting San Diego to meet her for the first time over three and a half years ago!! -- SOOOoooo delicious!) The picture quality is definitely lacking, but I wanted to post- for the printing of the family yearbook- this typical picture of Lukas: hugging his Superman, and making the 'peace' sign (ever since Jared taught him how to make '2' with his fingers and then turn it into 'peace' and sideways 'deuces!' which was a raving hit for months), and the picture of him with Leah because after having not seen her since she was a baby in our hit road show performance, they had such a ball playing together. Ahhh, 3 years old is grand. So giggly and wiggly.
