We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

We Got Mooned - MEGA MOONED!
We got the kid bathed, jammied, teeth brushed, scriptures read, and shoved everyone in the car to drive about a mile to a farm road to see the moon rise. With books to read and great anticipation, we waited to see "it"-- the biggest moon of the year. So the sun finally started really setting, and we'd keep looking at the dashboard clock, waiting for 8:03 to finally roll around. Then we just kept watching. Lukas read about Neil Armstrong and how he called out "The Eagle has landed" and how they left footprints in the moon surface. He said that the moon was a smiley face after we told him about the man on the moon... and then it was THERE!! This big ol' purple moon (air pollution), came rising up over the pumpkin patch (hay field) to bring joy to all the children of the world (at least Lukas)! When the car didn't start the joy was kind of fleeting, let's say, and then there were sad moments of holding up jumper cables and pointing while cars passed by (on a lonely farmer road-- so so sad-- although plenty of folks seemed to ask if we were fine while we were just waiting for the moon to rise!!LOL) Anyhow, our friend Joe rescued us from leaving our lights on during the moon fanaticism, and we got home safe and sound, with Lukas calling out to all the neighborhood kids on the way in the house: Hey! The moon is out! It's the biggest of the year!!
