We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." ~Marjorie Pay Hinckley~

Even before the turkey...

...has made its grand entrance into my kitchen inferno for yummy thanksgivingness, I'm on to the Christmas baking! Chocolate Chip cookies were Monday night, and Pavlova made it to the table tonight. Maybe I'll look more like Santa the next time I see you. Where can you get your hands on one of these?

We came, we saw, THEY conquered.

In the greatest showing of goodwill to men on Earth, BYU gave the Utes the ball at least six times, making it look like an accident, to be sure that the 13 million dollars available to a BCS Bowl team would come back to the Mountain West Conference. And hey, since BYU already muffed it up with TCU, I'm pretty sure the plan was to get the Utes to that next bracket. Yeah, and if the Utes hadn't caught the ball each time it was thrown to them, I'm sure the BYU players might have begun escorting the Ute players into the endzone, perhaps carrying pompoms of their own. I see now, on this day of the game-of-all-games, in the spirit of brotherhood and thanksgiving, BYU was surely the cream of the crop in the charity department. Way to go BYU.

This slideshow is to help us remember things we can be thankful for this time of year! PLEASE email me pictures to add to it! (ah, hem! Mom and dad!) Some of the songs are especially reminiscent of our house, and should bring back some fun memories.

Oct 31st- Halloween!

The day started off with some major action in the kitchen: Ghiradelli brownies, peanut butter bars, jello jigglers, broccoli onion soup/dip & chips for lunch, and then OFF to the community center to help set up for the huge Halloween Party for Orchard Park! It was so amazing, all the things set up for the families. Jared and I were in charge of the "Goblin soccer" and had a great time watching kids run around with this 3ft high inflated beachball. :) Here's to a great Halloween day!!

That night we got together at JoLynn & Casey's house for our Halloween Bash. Yummy treats, kool-aid with frozen hands, steamy rootbeer, limbo, dancing, and a scary movie with friends. Chelsea Christensen would be proud! :)
